I got to test out this lipstick-style portable battery charger from +LIFEGUARD. It has a capacity of 3000mAh and is nicely priced for its size. It also includes a apple approved lightening cable, too!

This is a really cool battery charger because it is so portable. It is small enough that you can put it in your jeans pocket, purse or even your shirt pocket. You will never have to be caught with a dead cell phone, ipod, tablet or gaming device again! I really love that this one is square shape and not round. So it won't roll off the table or desk where I often charge my devices.

This charger is 3 3/4" long and 1"x1" square. The outside is wrapped in a thick and sturdy meatal case. Mine is a bright pink and can easily be spotted in a bag/purse or laying in your charging storage container. As for the specifications, it has a full size 1A, USB port for use when charging another device like a phone. It also has a micro USB port for recharging the battery pack.

Along one of the sides is a LED. The LED glows red when it is charging the battery pack. The light will go off when charging is complete. The LED will glow blue when charging another device and will turn off when charging is complete. +LIFEGUARD does recommend that you do NOT charge another device, while charging the +LIFEGUARD MINI itself.

When recharging the battery pack you can use the included 12" charging cable. You can connect it with your computers USB port, but I have found charging to be really slow. So I connect mine to a plug-in USB AC Adapter and it charged from a completely dead state in about 4 hours.

Now the lightning cable is 8" long, which I found to be just the right size for a portable charger. I didn't use it because my devices are older, but it will be nice to have when I upgrade in the future. These lightning cables are not cheap from what I have seen. So for them to include this, is a major plus in my book! I used my own cables (30 pin cable) to charge both my Iphone 4s and my Ipod (4th gen?). I was also able to charge my Nintendo DS with this portable charger. Along with my Samsung Tablet.

+LIFEGUARD included a straight and to the point user's manual. I thought it was well written, easy to read and included easy to follow illustrations.

This is a great portable battery pack for charging your devices. It is straight forward to use. The portability is awesome. This product is well built. The bonus is the lightning cable for all newer devices. I can definitely recommend the +LIFEGUARD MINI 1 Portable Charger!
