Will they be able to help Naila unravel the mysterious code that will unlock where the treasure lies?
Jasper's Cowboy Wish - Howdy partner! Whyatt and his friends are playing
cowboys, but Pig can't join in because he doesn't know what cowboys do.
The super readers jump into the tale Jasper's Cowboy Wish and make the
acquaintance of a cowpoke who's desperate to become a rompin' stompin'
cowboy, if only he could get the hang of it! When Jasper must use his
cowboy skills to save the day, will he be a hero...or will this be his
last roundup?
Our Thoughts: The great thing about PBS Kids is that before you even pop the DVD in, you know the kids are going to learn something. SuperWhy takes your kids on a educational ride that they will enjoy.
The basic premise for each episode of SuperWhy!, is Wyatt and his Super Reader friends having a problem and solving the problem in different books. Each character has different strengths to help in the adventure.
Our favorite episode from this DVD was Naila and the Magic Map. This is where Pig and his friends are playing when they find a Egyptian treasure map. However they can't make out the hieroglyphics. So in order to figure things out, the Super Readers travel into the book "Naila and the Magic Map". They are transported to ancient Egypt and the kids get to help Wyatt and his friends find the "Super Letter" to translate the hieroglyphics.
After watching the DVD, we checked out the extra content on the disc. It included 5 different reading video games and printable sheets for practice. The really cool thing about the reading videos is that we felt part of the action. Your asked to spell, sing, point out letters and entire words with the Heroes. This alone is worth the DVD price.
All in all this DVD is no different then what I have come to expect from PBS Kids. It entertains not only the kids, but the adults as well. Parents are left feeling like the 30 minutes the kids spent watching, was not a waste of time. These DVDs are encouraging kids to have a adventure, to read, to practice spelling and expand their vocabulary. The characters are fun and the music keeps the kiddos moving along.
We give SuperWhy! Around the World Adventures DVD two thumbs up for not only being educational but also entertaining!

I love educational programs for my daughter! We don't have cable, so when I do put something on, I try to find DVD's that will actually teach her something at the same time she thinks she is vegging out! Will have to check out SuperWhy!
My boys love super why. I really should get some DVD's for our road trip

My kids are too old for this, but it sounds like something I should buy my nephews! Thank you!
Today is a rainy day, and your post makes me wish I were a kid again...sprawled out on the sofa watching a dvd while the rain pours down outside!
