Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait & Ant Gel Review & Giveaway
Wednesday, September 12, 2012
Being a Purex Insider, I was given the opportunity to test out 2 ant killing products from Combat. Knock on wood we haven't had a ant problem in the house this year. So I decided to try out these two new products on our covered porch. Both the Ant Bait and Ant Gel worked well.
The Combat Source Kill Max Ant Gel worked fast. I used it in cracks in the cement. I also used it around the window. It was no-mess and provided lots of coverage in each "needle". It was amazing to see how fast the ants were attracted to the gel and I noticed a lot fewer ants on the porch after one day.
The Combat Source Kill Max Ant Killing Gel is effective against Carpenter, Pharaoh, Argentine, Cornfield, Odorous House, Thief, Pavement, White Footed, and Little Black Ants.
The Combat Source Kill Max Ant Bait didn't work as fast. I didn't really expect it to though either.
These baits contain the insecticide, Fipronil, which kills most common household ants such as Argentine, Cornfield, Little Black, Odorous House, and Pavement Ants. The ants are attracted to the bait and then they carry it back to their colony which in turn destroys the queen and the rest of the colony. They are easy-to-use, mess-free, no activation needed, and most importantly I think are child resistant. You just place it where you saw the ants and let it do its work. The longer you can leave these little "houses", the better job they do. My plant holders were ant free in about 2 weeks. Yay no more messy ant hills. They were HUGE!

I have not tried these products. I have always been leery of trying chemical products, but ants are bad here, and the natural remedies aren't working.
