Those cute Dinosaurs are off on another adventure and you and your children can come along for the ride. PBS Kids is releasing 'Dinosaur Train: Big City' on DVD for the suggested retail price of $14.99 U.S./$15.99 Canada. The run time is 100 minutes for this DVD. Includes the following chapters (times is approximately 13 minutes each chapter):
  • Dinosaur Big City – Part 1 Buddy and the Pteranodon family begin their journey on the Dinosaur Train, gathering all their Theropod friends together to travel to a really big Theropod Club Convention which is being held in Laramidia, the Dinosaur Big City.
  • Dinosaur Big City – Part 2 The Pteranodon family continues their journey to the Theropod Convention in Laramidia, the Dinosaur Big City! Among the Theropod dinosaurs that ride the Train with them is King Cryolophosaurus, who sings his songs Big Ol Whistle-Stop Rock-n-Roll Dinosaur Tour and Whole Lotta Theropods.
  • Dinosaur Big City – Part 3 The Dinosaur Train arrives in Laramidia, the Dinosaur Big City, and Buddy and the Pteranodon family explore the crowded dinosaur metropolis. At the Theropod Convention, our kids reunite with Annie Tyrannosaurus and her parents Dolores and Boris, and they all meet the multi-horned mayor, Mayor Kosmoceratops.
  • Dinosaur Big City – Part 4 Buddy and Tiny help King Cryolophosaurus overcome his fear of performing in front of his biggest audience ever, and he wows a large dinosaur audience when he sings his new song, Whole Lotta Theropods at the Theropod Convention in Laramidia, the Dinosaur Big City.
  • Troodon Train Day The Pteranodon family rides to Troodon Town to celebrate Troodon Train Day, where the main event is a concert by King Cryolophosaurus, giving his first performance in years! When King comes down with some last-minute jitters, Buddy and Tiny help him overcome his stage fright and he sings a medley of his hits, including the Dinosaur Train theme song.
  • King Cryolophosaurus Buddy, Tiny, Don and Mom meet a reclusive, singing dinosaur named King who has a big swooping crest on his head and a voice that sounds an awful lot like Elvis Presley.
  • The Theropod Club Buddy's Theropod Club meets with other dinosaurs that walk on two legs, eat meat, and have three toed feet. But Tiny feels left out until the Club invites her to join too.
  • Laura Giganotosaurus Buddy and Tiny hang out with Laura, a regular on the Dinosaur Train, and learn about her job as a look-out on the Train, and really like watching her pursue her favorite hobby bird-watching! Laura also likes to draw pictures of the birds she meets.
*Special Features include Interactive Games, Coloring Pages, Dinosaur Reference Guide, and Dinosaur Discoveries with Dr. Scott, the paleontologist.

My thoughts:
You can't go wrong with something created by Jim Henson and airs on PBS. I along with our kids and the kids we babysit really enjoyed the DVD. It really does cover young to old as far as enjoyment goes. Each and every one of us can learn something from this program. It reminds me of Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood from when I was a kid. He took you on an adventure and you learned some interesting facts along the way. You can't say that for much of todays television. This particular "show" focuses on Theropods in general, and has emphasis on King Cryolophosaurus in particular. With all the awesome extras (Listed above) that can be completed multiple times, it is worth the retail price for sure. So go ahead and add it to your collection today!

*Please note that I received a copy of the DVD so I could give my fair and honest opinion. The opinions expressed in this review are my own and were not influenced in any way.*
